Sue Lane – Safeguarding

Sue Lane has a background of a full career in teaching and was, most recently, the Walsall FC Education Officer for the club’s Academy and Youth Team. Her role at the club meant that she worked in tandem with the Walsall FC Safeguarding Officer due to her work with almost 250 players under the age of 18.

James Chambers – EDI

James is an ex-professional footballer, from the West Midlands, who finished his career at Walsall FC. He has now set up his own successful business venture, unrelated to football, and is continuing his career after football. James is an active member of the board and ensures that EDI is embedded within the Foundation.

Tony Millard – Engagement

Having had a career in football cut short by injury, Tony now works successfully in the world of Property. Tony spent time as a player at Walsall FC and he now feels that he is in a position to “give back” to the sport.  Tony also has a background in Youth Engagement and enjoys supporting the Foundation with his knowledge.

Adam Chambers – Sport

Adam joined his twin brother, James, on the Board in 2019. As his 25 year career as a professional footballer came to a close, Adam wished to remain local and active at Walsall FC. He sees the role of a trustee an ideal opportunity to give back to his local club and is keen to support our work in the Sport department as well as supporting the wider Foundation too.

Rob Judson – Business Operations

Rob joins the board of trustees as a lifelong Walsall FC supporter.  His rise to COO of the North American Division of Homeserve is a story of part time call centre worker to Senior Leadership Team.  His experience of Business and Worforce Development is a key asset to the current board.

Don Goodman – Media

Don is an ex-professional footballer and, now, Sky Sports EFL pundit.  He is no stranger to Saddlers fans, scoring in our Play-Off Final win in 2001 and winning player of the match.  His career in media is a great asset to the Foundation and he is a valued member of the board.

Garry Perry – Health & Community

Garry Perry is Councillor for Pelsall and a previous Mayor of Walsall.  He is portfolio holder for Resilient Communities.  His full time role within the NHS also gives added value to his role on the board and his local contacts are an asset to the Foundation.

Pete Sturgess – Education

Following a career as a tutor in Post 16 education, Pete joined The FA and became a valued member of their FA Education team.  Pete has been the National England Futsal Manager and also works to support and develop football coaches across the Country as a lead tutor for the FA.  Pete was born in Walsall and a supporter of the Club and we are delighted to have him as a board member.

Before he joined Trivela Group, Wes led operations and supply chain within Nike’s Advanced Innovation department, ran a fractional COO consultancy, and helped launch a wearable technology startup out of Vanderbilt University.
