The Walsall FC Foundation Board of Trustees is an appointed group of individuals that have overall responsibility for the management of WFC Foundation The Board of Trustees acts as the scheme’s governing body, and seeks to ensure decisions are made in the best interest of stakeholders, in all types of management decisions.
Daniel Mole (Chair of Trustees) – Strategy, Marketing, Media
Dan is Club Secretary at Walsall FC and a Director of the Club. He also sits as Chair of Trustees. Dan is a key link between the Club and Community Department and is a huge advocate for our programmes. His background is in Media and his skills and knowledge help us to best promote the work we do.
Stefan Gamble – Finance
Stefan is a Trustee for the Community Department and also the CEO of Walsall FC. Essentially, Stefan is in charge of the day-to-day operation of Walsall FC. He is a trained accountant and plays an important role for the scheme when overseeing all finances connected to the charity.
Mick Kearns – Equality
Mick Kearns was the original Community Officer at Walsall FC when he formed the scheme in December 1989. He stepped down from the role of Community Director after 25 years in post. He is also an ex-player for Walsall and the Republic of Ireland. His experience of running the scheme for quarter of a decade, plus his role as a Magistrate and Justice of the Peace, are key skills when guiding us on equality and engagement issues.
Sue Lane – Safeguarding
Sue Lane operates as the Walsall FC Education Officer for the club’s Academy and Youth Team. Her role at the club means that she works in tandem with the Walsall FC Safeguarding Officer due to her work with almost 250 players under the age of 18. She has the background of a full career in teaching is a valuable member of the Trustees.
Richard Tisdale – Business Operation
Richard is a Director of Walsall FC and also has his own, very successful, signage company. Now at retirement age, Richard has a wealth of knowledge in the business sector and he is a big supporter of the Foundation as well as a guide for business related matters.
Brian Adshead – Governance
Brian is one of the Vice Presidents of the FA. His experience gained by leading on national FA programmes means that he is well placed to understand the needs that surround good Governance. He is a pro-active member of the team and someone who always offers excellent Governance advice.
James Chambers – Sport
James is an ex-professional footballer, from the West Midlands, who finished his career at Walsall FC. He has now set up his own successful business venture, unrelated to football, and is beginning his career after football. Having spent 20 years as a professional player, and remaining an active person away from the game, James is well placed and keen to oversee our Sport delivery programmes and the additional health, education and engagement possibilities that they offer.
Amy Bills – Education
Amy is one of our newest Trustees. She joins the scheme having been a participant on Foundation activities in her school days. She is local to Walsall and remains a resident of the Borough. She qualified as a Teacher and is now an Executive Head Teacher, overseeing 6 schools in the area. In a short career, so far, Amy has fast tracked to a position of high responsibility and is well placed to advise on all things education related.
Tony Millard – Business Operation
Tony is one of our newest Trustees. Having had a career in football cut short by injury, Tony now works successfully in the world of Property. Tony spent time as a player at Walsall FC and he now feels that he is in a position to “give back” to the sport and is excited by the opportunity to join as a Trustee to share his skills and experience of sport and the business world.
Adam Chambers – Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Sport
Adam is one of our newest Trustees and joins his twin brother, James, on the Board. As his 25 year career as a professional footballer is coming to a close, Adam wishes to remain local and active at Walsall FC. He sees the role of a trustee an ideal opportunity to give back to his local club and is keen to support our work around Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Sport.
