Walsall FC Foundation’s trustees guide the charity’s long-term direction, governance and community impact. The Board provides strategic oversight and helps the Foundation work responsibly and sustainably across education, engagement, sport, health and fundraising.
They bring experience from football, education, safeguarding, business, public service and community work to support opportunities for people across Walsall and the wider West Midlands.
Finance · Chair of Trustees
A lifelong Saddlers supporter, Graham is Walsall FC’s Supporter Liaison Officer and an Associate Board Member. A former partner in a chartered accountancy firm, he guides the Foundation’s finances and governance.
Safeguarding
Formerly Education Officer for Walsall FC’s Academy and Youth Team, Sue supported the development and welfare of almost 250 under-18 players. She brings education and safeguarding experience to the Board.
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
A former professional footballer who finished his playing career at Walsall FC, James has since built a business career. He champions inclusion across the Foundation’s programmes and culture.
Engagement
A former Walsall FC player, Tony now works in the property sector. His business experience and background in youth engagement support the Foundation’s work with local communities.
Sport
Adam joined the Board in 2019 after a 25-year professional football career. He uses his knowledge of the game to guide the Foundation’s sport and football development programmes.
Business Operations
A lifelong Walsall FC supporter, Rob progressed to Chief Operating Officer of HomeServe’s North American division. He brings large-scale operational and leadership experience to the Foundation.
Media
Don is a former professional footballer and Sky Sports EFL pundit. A scorer in Walsall FC’s 2001 Play-Off Final win, he advises on media, communications and awareness of the Foundation’s work.
Health & Community
A former Pelsall councillor and Mayor of Walsall, Garry also has NHS experience. His local knowledge helps guide the Foundation’s health, wellbeing and community work.
Education
Born in Walsall, Pete has worked in Post-16 education and FA coach education and served as England Futsal Manager. He supports the Foundation’s education and coaching pathways.
Charity
Marc is Chief Operating Officer of Trivela Group, with senior leadership experience across sport, healthcare and insurance. He supports the Foundation’s strategy, governance and long-term development.
Engagement
A former Short Heath councillor, Poonam has a background in marketing, communications and community engagement. She also serves on LandAid’s Midlands Board and advocates for inclusion and women in sport.
