Hancock and Roberts visit St Johns ahead of School Partners Game

Children at St John’s CE Primary School enjoyed a special visit earlier this week from Saddlers players Mason Hancock and Myles Roberts.

The visit marked the school’s success in selling the highest number of tickets through the School Partners Game scheme. As one of the Foundation’s partner schools, St John’s will be among nearly 1,000 children attending the upcoming Walsall FC vs Newport County fixture at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium.

Running since 2007, the initiative offers discounted match tickets to schoolchildren, aiming to inspire the next generation of Walsall supporters. Since it began, more than 40,000 tickets have been sold, with over £20,000 returned to local schools through cashback.

During their visit, Hancock and Roberts met pupils who will be attending the match this Saturday. These children were also presented with Walsall FC home shirts as part of the Our Town Our Top project, which has already distributed over 100 shirts to young people in the area with support from NoFo Brew Co.

The players also spent time celebrating pupils’ achievements in reading. Following World Book Day, children from each year group were invited to meet the duo and received a free book as a reward for their hard work, thanks to The National Literacy Trust and the Premier League Primary Stars programme.

To round off the visit, Hancock and Roberts toured the classrooms, answering questions, chatting with pupils, and signing autographs.

We look forward to seeing all our young supporters at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium this weekend, cheering on the Saddlers and inspiring a new generation of Walsall fans.
