This season, players have already been involved in a number of appearances at Walsall FC Foundation projects.
This includes support of World Mental Health Day and Black History Month in October, as well as ahead our School Partners Game at the weekend.
Goalkeeper Sam Hornby committed to engaging with a number of projects across Foundation departments, and has been named ambassador for ‘Community’.
Hornby said: “The work the Foundation does is fantastic and I was really keen to get involved across a lot of their activities.”
“As players we are in a unique position to make an impact on a lot of people, and not just on a matchday.
“Helping in the community is also rewarding for us, and hopefully the squad supporting and championing Foundation projects can make a big difference in Walsall.”
Former Saddlers striker, now Sky Sports pundit and Walsall FC Foundation trustee, Don Goodman, joined Foundation Director Adam Davy to speak to players last month about the importance of impacting the local community.
Davy added: “The ambassadors’ role will be to promote our key themes in the Walsall community.
“Walsall FC is proud to be recognised as a ‘community club’ and we’re pleased to have the players supporting our work.”
