Walsall FC Foundation marked its 35th anniversary last week with a Focus Fixture against Notts County and first ever charity dinner.
Tuesday night’s match against Notts County provided the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for the Foundation, with a commemorative programme, bucket collections and prize draw all taking place at the Poundland Bescot Stadium.
The first-team also wore exclusive Walsall FC Foundation warm-up t-shirts during pre-match preparations, which will be auctioned off in the near future to raise further funds for the club’s official charity.

Founded initially as Walsall FC Community Programme in 1989, the Foundation delivers a number of education, sport, health and engagement projects in the community – all with the aim of changing lives through football.
The fixture followed the inaugural Foundation Dinner event on Sunday 1st December, attended by 200 invited guests.
Supported by Trivela Group and NoFo Brew Co, the dinner highlighted a number of ongoing Foundation programmes, as well as recognising a number of individuals with awards for their commitment to the local community.
The awards were as follows:
Health Champion (sponsored by Hayward Transport) – Martin Berry
Sport Champion (sponsored by Made in the Midlands) – Vicky Mitchell-Blunt
Engagement Champion (Sponsored by RayGray Snacks) – Rizwan Ahmed
Education Champion (Sponsored by Howard Evans & SPV Group) – Mark Dakin
Outstanding Contribution (sponsored by Pallet-Track) – Free Kicks Foundation

Adam Davy said: “We were delighted to shine a light on Walsall FC Foundation with our inaugural dinner and our 35th Anniversary fixture.
It is an exciting period of growth for the Foundation, with our charity running more projects than ever before in the local community. After 35 Years, we’re still looking forward to what the future holds.
“A huge thank you must go to our award and event sponsors for making the dinner possible, as well of all of the Saddlers fans who back our fundraisers throughout the week.
“Walsall FC has always had a reputation as a ‘community club’, and we’re really proud to continue working across Walsall to change lives through football.”
