Walsall FC Foundation are delighted to announce ten Saddlers players as our ambassadors for the 2026/27 season.
This continues the club’s ongoing dedication, with support from the PFA, to player engagement and inspiring the hearts and minds of our community.
For the first time ever, players from the Walsall FC Women first-team have been named ambassadors, with engagement already in girls sessions and holiday courses.
Co-ordinated by the Foundation, as the club’s official charity, the players visit a range of community activities, with an increased commitment to involve more Academy scholars too this year.
Every one of our ten ambassadors has already made a community player appearance this campaign, with more to come throughout the season.
Our Foundation ambassadors for 2026/27 are:
Rhiannon Bate – Women & Girls
Mason Hancock – Education
Tai Sodje – Inclusion
Jed Ward – Sport
Phoebe Smith – Disabilities
Reece Smith – Health
Harrison Burke – Mental Health
Gurj Woodhurst – Youth Engagement
Ryan Leak – Employability
Albert Adomah – Community
Players have already been involved in a number of appearances at Walsall FC Foundation projects since August, including visiting local primary and secondary schools, youth engagement activities, and supporting mental health football at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium.
Walsall FC Women captain Phoebe Smith, who has already visited Foundation Soccer Schools, is a SENCO assistant (special educational needs coordinator) in a school, working with children with moderate to severe learning difficulties, and is keen to support the Foundation as Disabilities ambassador.
She said: “I’m absolutely over the moon to be an ambassador. Getting more involved is a big opportunity and something we have wanted to do as the women’s team for a while.
“There are so many girls who want to get into football and to have female ambassadors and role models is important – it’s a privilege to be involved on the journey.”
Adam Davy said: “The ambassadors’ role is to help us promote our key themes in the Walsall community, using their platform to highlight what we do.
“We’re especially pleased to welcome our women’s team too. The players have the opportunity to be real role models, particularly for young girls, so it’s great to have Phoebe, Rhiannon and Gurj on board as ambassadors.
“Walsall FC is proud to be recognised as a ‘community club’ and we’re pleased to have the players supporting our work.”
